Lisa first met Simon and Solomon in 2013…it took a few days to realize that the little boy running around was actually two boys! It didn’t take long for them to be connected and attached.

The adoption never would have been successful without Patrick joining the family and working hard with connections, documentation, getting us to the right places, etc. Simon & Solomon’s adoption was finalized in Uganda less than 3 months before the deadline (according to their age).

When they were young, a child from Village Bible Church sent the twins a basketball. It was the first time they ever put their hands on one. Little did we know, that in a few years this would become their favorite sport and what they want to spend every free minute doing.

Simon & Solomon enjoy playing basketball with friends from school and the community. Weekends and breaks from school are largely spent on the basketball court down the hill from our house.
When they finally got to America, Lisa’s parents borrowed a basketball hoop from a neighbor. The very first evening in the country they set it up and got busy shooting hoops. What a great welcome it was! During their time they also had a chance to play on indoor basketball courts for the first time. Dreams can come true!

For a few years, Lisa has hosted a Christmas party for the twins and their friends from school. It is a big hit and everyone has so much fun with an afternoon packed full of Christmas activities.
Solomon & Simon made it to the USA!

With miracle after miracle, what felt impossible at times, was finally completed. Simon & Solomon were able to travel to the USA (with Lisa and Micah). They met family they’d only heard about or chatted with on Whatsapp, attended Village Bible Church (multiple campuses, and even volunteered & shopped at the Missions Garage Sale), and enjoyed fun adventures (like canoeing, go-karts, waterslides). But most importantly, they received USA citizenship! Praise God!
